Betsy's Couture Cards

Good morning all. Today I am going to share some of the cards I have made using my VERY favourite collection! Betsy's Couture. I so love it, gorgeous colour palette and vintage - could one ask for more! Kaisercraft have been so kind naming a collection after me - I really do feel very honoured.

Today I have doubled up with my post on Artfull Crafts and I have made some explanations there, regarding the cards shown, so do check them out if you are interested or maybe contact me if you have any questions. I love hearing from you, it makes blogging well worth while.

A busy day ahead of me today - my husband had deserted me this morning, as he has headed down to the farm for a few days. He informed me, as he left this morning, that it is the first time he has left me in 51 years - I certainly can't say the same! I am going to be in Dunedin for the weekend as we have a patchwork workshop there and Hugh is going to stay with us for a night, on his way home.  He was so excited about his big adventure this morning. The farm still seems to be a big draw card! He even left me to look after the tomatoes - what a responsibility!

Well, happy crafting to you all and many blessings,

Betsy  xxx

Birthday Cards

A big hello to all my special blog friends. Now, I am not going to be mentioning the weather today as it is a taboo subject! My daughter informed me that it sounded as though I was obsessed about it! Isn't it great that I still have someone to keep an eye on things and keep me in line! Oh I do love you Shells.

Well, today I thought I would share some cards that I have made recently, for orders.

I have used the lovely new collection from Kaisercraft, for this card, called All That Glitters. It certainly does glitter and is very nice. Lucy was a farm lady in her younger days and apparently very fond of her horses, hence we had to have a horse on the card. Again I have used the Cherry Lynn Step card die both for this one, as well as the next.

Sarah loves shopping, so I found a silhouette image on Pinterest which I thought was appropriate and printed it off. Another Kaisercraft Collection, out this month, called Shine Bright. I love the colours of this one, thought they suited a twenty year old young lady. Bright and cherry!

This is a 5 1/4" square card and the Marianne Creatables Die was used. I seem to be attracted to grey at the moment and of course pink goes beautifully - very delicate. This is made using the BoBunny Madeleine collection.

Must away and pack my little bag, as I am heading up to Christchurch to be with Rachelle for her second last treatment - there is light at the end of the tunnel now, thankfully. Although she is struggling with tiredness she is still bright and chirpy. It is so nice to be able to be with her, even though she could manage by herself and I do enjoy the time spent at the hospital with folk who are going through the same. What an encouragement most of them are.

Happy crafting all and many blessings,

Two Birthday Cards.

Guess what ladies - it is raining, for how long I don't know, but I suppose, something is better that nothing. The temperature is certainly more bearable today, thankfully! Dare say, it won't be too long before we are complaining about the cold - human nature!!

Today I would like to share a couple of cards which I have made with the lovely BoBunny, Madeleine Collection. I rather like this one and find it very suitable for ladies cards. What's your thoughts?!

For this card I have again used Spellbinders, Reflective Moments, S6-011. It is perhaps one of my favourites at the moment, as no doubt you can tell! You will notice there are no flowers on this one as the request was for one that can be posted. In other words, flat. Oh, I do miss adding flowers.

This card was made for my special friend, who is a fabulous musician. I didn't conceive the idea myself  but found it on Pinterest. I did make a search on line for a template but with no success, so I just cut a shape out myself, which I was rather pleased with. Think Jocelyn may have been as well.

Well, that's it today ladies. I am off into my workroom to continue, ( believe it or not! ) making cards. It sure is a great day for it, listening to the rain on the roof is fabulous. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I so love getting your emails and comments.

Happy crafting all, and many blessings,

Betsy  xxx

February Is Here.

Good morning ladies, and another warm day is predicted. It is actually rather warm already - Oh dear, where is the rain? My thoughts go to all those farmers who are really needing a bit of moisture.

Today I am going to showcase three cards which I have made for orders. They are all a bit different so hope you enjoy.

This card was made for a couple of students who were getting married - " nothing fussy and nothing too serious ". Well, do you think I achieved the right look? The person that ordered the card was very pleased as I hope the recipients were.

A birthday card for a lady who was turning ninety and had been a wonderful seamstress all her life.

The die I have used for Betty's Card is Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 and as with the previous card, they are both made using older collections from Kaisercraft.

I am just leaving for Christchurch now, as Rachelle has her next treatment on Tuesday. Just as well the car has air conditioning!! I enjoy this time spent with my lovely daughter and family, also catching up with our other family in Christchurch. Most of the kids have started back at school now, so things will be resuming a bit of normality.

Hope you've got some inspiration from these cards and thanks for stopping by. Do keep a check on Artfull Crafts blog as my lovely collection is due to make an appearance. Betsy's Couture which is so nice - I just love it ladies! Kaisercraft have again excelled, well I think so anyway!

Happy crafting  and God's blessing as you all settle into a new year.
