Using Kaisercraft's Oh So Lovely Collection

Well ladies, I see a fortnight has passed since last blogging but card making has been the furtherest from my mind lately. I have spent this past week in Christchurch, with Rachelle, as she has had her surgery and is struggling with the post op results, that being, just not well at all. They were considering further surgery but thankfully haven't followed through with it. Just a matter of time now until she gets over the pain etc. I will head up again tomorrow to be with her as she is home now, but still not up to being by herself. We trust it won't be long 'til she is back to her usual happy self.

I have made the following cards using Kaisercraft's Oh So Lovely Collection, and it sure is super. Love to know what you think ladies.

At our Ashburton card making group, we were given a challenge to make a card using something from an old calender. I chose these small floral pictures and this is the end result. The die I have used, and attached to acetate on the front, is a Memory Box Die called Large Ringlets, style no 98790. I have mounted the border up using foam mount so it gives the impression of looking through a window.

When I saw this die at Artfull Crafts, my mind went to all the possibilities that it could be used for. This is my very first idea! Another Memory Box Die, Bloomington Border, style no 99008 - I cut it out first in green then again in white and mounted the flowers up. The sentiment frame was cut using Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five, again a gorgeous die. I did notice after taking the photo, that the pearls were falling off, but have since reattached them!

A dismal day here today but I must say we have had some lovely weather lately. Do hope you have all had an enjoyable break over the weekend and recharged all your batteries.

Happy crafting ladies and may many blessings come your way.

A Couple of Cards Plus.....

Special hello to all my blog friends. It is so nice to be back with you all again and I do hope you are all well and happy, in what you are doing.

I have had another busy week but it has been so enjoyable. My four lovely girls and I spent some time away at Akaroa, to celebrate Rachelle's chemotherapy completion and before she has her surgery. It was an absolutely fabulous time, staying in a 1800 something B&B which was stunning. I would recommend it to one and all! What could be better than climbing into beautiful linen at night, all pin tucked with 4" of vintage lace! It was sure scrumptious. We're back to real life now!

Today, I would like to showcase a couple of cards which I have made recently, also a couple of bags which I put together at our Patchwork Camp, a few weeks back.

Firstly, a wedding card made for an order. The background embossing was done with a folder which came with the latest Australian Simply Stamps book. The couple is a Tattered Lace die, D169, and the label was cut using Spellbinders, Heirloom Rectangle, the smaller die. The card measures 5 1/4" square.

When at Cardmaking Camp, we were given a bag with bits and pieces and our challenge was to make a card using some of everything. This is the result of that challenge. Our theme for the weekend was the 1980's, so of course orange was a  really dominant feature. A fun weekend was had by all.

The weekend after, we had our patchwork camp and this is what I achieved over that weekend. ( Not that I really need any more bags!!)

Well ladies, that's it today -  thanks so much for stopping by. I do love getting all the comments, emails etc and I appreciate you all.

Happy crafting, many blessings to you all,

Piano Card etc.

A special hello ladies - sorry I missed posting last week but time got away on me! I did get a few complaints from some local ladies, so I am trying to rectify that by adding one now, although I know it is rather late in the day. Easter seems to be a very busy time for us, but feel now we can get back into a more relaxed life, hopefully! We have had a lovely weekend with many visitors around and the weather was pretty good over all.

Today I thought I would share a card that I taught at Artfull Crafts a couple of weeks ago. The ladies seemed to enjoy it and all were thrilled with their finished project.

You will see no doubt, that I was trying to beat the rain taking this photo! The collection used was Kaisercraft's, On Stage, which was perfect for this card. It can be folded flat for posting as the leg just folds under and as the two back layers open revealing the sentiment.

I have branched out with this one, instead of a card, we have a box. Now this pattern was found in Tattered Lace, issue 14 and it was such fun to make, with the instructions being easy to follow. I am usually a visual person but had no problems at all just following the steps. Under the lid of the piano it is an actual box, which could of course, be filled with lots of goodies. I thought flowers were better for the waistline!

Hope I am forgiven for the slip up last week. On Wednesday I am heading up to Christchurch as we are going to have a girls time away to celebrate, with Rachelle, the completion of her chemotherapy and before she has further surgery. As the girls have organized it all, it is going to be a bit of a surprise and at the moment I am in the dark. I am so thankful for my three lovely daughters and my very special daughter-in-law.

All tonight ladies. I do hope you all had an enjoyable Easter weekend and that you all have a happy holiday time with the children.I know my daughters enjoy the holidays, as there is not so much pressure  getting the kids to school etc. Many blessings,
